RYAN CHRISTIE admitted toothless Scotland need to find their bite when they face the Czechs on Monday.

The Celtic star put Steve Clarke’s side ahead from the penalty spot.

But he had to watch as Eran Zahavi equalised in the second half to claim a Nations League point for Israel. Christie admits they need to sharpen up in attack now they’ve dropped points at home.

And ahead of next month’s play-off they need to find a way to get goals. Christie said: “We have to create more going forward and we will look at that. We were more threatening in the first half but that’s something we will have to look at going into Monday.

“We need to be more threatening. The shape was good, which has sometimes been a problem in previous games.

“It was frustrating, we started the game wanting to win it and that was the aim. We wanted to continue the unbeaten run so it wasn’t the end of the world.

“We limited them to few chances. It has been a good week, the gaffer has been pleased with training and there are plenty of positives.

“There is plenty for us going forward.

“Both teams cancelled each other out pretty well.

“There is always pressure when you are taking a penalty, so I was glad to see it go in.”

Midfielder John McGinn insists that with the talent Clarke was able to field they should be scoring more goals.

And he reckons last night’s draw hits home how difficult next month’s match is going to be against Willi Ruttensteiner’s men.

He said: “It’s disappointing because we want to win our home games.

“They didn’t create a lot of chances but neither did we. We worked on the system all week and I think it worked well.”

McGinn, who was pulled down for the first-half spot-kick, added: “We have the players to do it, we have top players on the pitch and we have to bring out qualities.

“A lot of people thought we’d rock up in October and skip through to the final but we know how difficult it’s going to be.

“They are a good side and the next game is going to be difficult.”

Boss Steve Clarke added: “I’m reasonably pleased, it was a tweak to the system with only three days to prepare for it.

“There were some good things and some bad things. I thought we were in control of the game for most of it.

“I am looking at various options and this seemed a good game to try it.

“I thought the back three were decent.

“Lyndon Dykes was excellent. He’s a strong boy and his hold-up play was excellent.

“We have to look to get him support and we will do that and improve.

“We both had a look at each other, they played a strong team and we played a strong team.”
