ODSONNE Edouard is back in Scotland and will be assessed to see if he can play any part in tomorrow’s Old Firm match.
It was uncertain whether the Frenchman – who tested positive for coronavirus last Tuesday – would get back into Glasgow today or tomorrow.
While Lennon said he had been unable to train whilst in self-isolation, and didn’t train today, the news that he is at least back in the country and will be assessed later today is good news for those Hoops fans hoping for him to make a remarkable return to action in the first Glasgow grudge match of the season.
The Northern Irishman said: “Edouard is back today.
“He will be assessed – we are going through that procedure at the minute, so we will know more later on this afternoon.
“He has been a bit tired and isolated but we will go through the tests and we will see how he is.”
While the Hoops don’t have their problems to seek going into this match with Israeli pair Nir Bitton and Hatem Elhamed out due to positive tests, Lennon was also bullish about the possibility of securing Ryan Christie’s early release from self-isolation in time to feature in the match.
Christie was forced to self isolate on the advice of health officials after coming into close contact with Southampton star Stuart Armstrong whilst on international duty with Scotland.
The Northern Irishman confirmed SunSport’s exclusive that the Gunners were poised to announce that they had successfully negotiated the Scot’s release ahead of their meeting with Manchester City tomorrow evening.
And said they would be asking questions of the authorities until Christie is allowed to do likewise.
Lennon said: “We would be very confused and want answers, that Kieran Tierney is allowed to play and Ryan has been refused to play.
“It would be very confusing and I think our supporters would want to know the answers as well.”
