PREMIER League sides Norwich City and Burnley are set to do battle for the services of Celtic star Ryan Christie, according to a report.

We told you how the Scotland international is only actually contracted to the club until January of next year.

Ryan Christie seems certain to leave the club this summer

That he means he can talk to interested parties in the next few weeks – and now the Daily Mail claim that Championship winners Norwich and Burnley among those who will lead the hunt.

The Hoops will be keen to recoup at least some cash from his departure, even if the fact there is only a few months remaining on his deal will make realising his true market value impossible.

Norwich are building for another go at the Premier League next season under impressive German coach Daniel Farke, where they could pair him with his current Hoops team-mate Kris Ajer.

Burnley are likely to make their play for their player when they secure their top flight status, presumably in the next few weeks.

Christie could also have options on the continent, where he was linked with a move to Nice last year.

While Norwich are also thought to be keen on Kristoffer Ajer, the Daily Mail claims that Newcastle United are his preferred option.

Italian giants AC Milan have also been credited with an interest in Ajer but the St James’ Park wide were interested spectators at Ibrox on Sunday for a match where Ajer showed his poise bringing the ball from the back and ended up with the captain’s armband.

Newcastle scouts would also have been interested spectators in Odsonne Edouard on Sunday, although the Mail claims that Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City head the list of clubs chasing the Hoops’ French striker.

They claim that Celtic want to double their £9m outlay on the Frenchman, but it remains to be seen whether that will be possible with PSG also due a chunk of cash from any deal on a player also entering the last six months of his deal.
